Ceramic Mug, (11oz, 15oz) - Bivalves by Dr. Ernst Haeckel

This ceramic mug features bivalve mollusks drawn by Dr. Ernst Haeckel.  These antique illustrations are from the 54th plate from Haeckel's 1904 book Kunstformen der Natur (Art Forms in Nature).

This illustration was originally labeled Acephala, an older term for the clams, oysters and scallops. Here is a list of the species' binomial names in Haeckel's time and their updated classification.
