These white-backed or transparent stickers feature a Spider Octopus (Octopus saluti) painted by Comingio Merculiano (1845- 1915), the in-house illustrator (from 1885) at Naples Zoological Station.  A scientific illustration from Giuseppe Jatta's "I Cefalopodi Viventi nel Golfo di Napoli (Sistematica) (1896). It was the 23rd monograph in the series Fauna and Flora of the Gulf of Naples, published by the Stazione Zoologica.
